Updates

September was my first full month blogging! I think it was a success. I am enjoying it and still figuring things out. If you have any advice for a new blogger please let me know.

I finally made a bookstagram. Feel free to follow me and I’ll follow back. https://www.instagram.com/just_reading_jess/

My favorite book read this month

My favorite book read this month was The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher. This is also my favorite book of 2020.

The Wrong Family by Tarryn Fisher is one of my new favorite books! Fisher brings her dark twistedness to a whole new level in The Wrong Family! The Wrong Family is a must read for thriller fans.

You can preorder today or read some of Tarryn’s backlist to prepare. If you need suggestions let me know.

Books to read in october

I don’t plan enough in advance to have a full list. I get a lot of books from the library and request ARCs whenever I feel like it, but these are the books I will definitely read.

  • Dead Perfect by Noelle Holten
  • All About Us by Tom Ellen
  • The Perfect Couple by Lisa Hall
  • First Date by Sue Watson
  • An Angel’s Work by Kate Eastham
  • Punching the Aire by Ibi Zoboi and Yusef Salaam

  1. Congrats on one month blogging! You read a TON last month. That’s amazing. I’m hoping to read lots of mysteries and thrillers this month. I have some ideas, but we’ll see what I get to.

    1. Thank you so much! There’s not much else to do right now so I’m basically always reading when I’m not at work. I hope you read lots of mysteries and thrillers. Thrillers are my favorite.

      I followed you back 😊

  2. You are a prolific reader. Reminds me of my dad. He was a fast reader and devoured a book every night before bed. I’m having a hard time concentrating right now so I’m lucky to get one month read. – Margy

    1. Thank you Jess! I do read a lot especially when I’m not doing anything else because of covid. American Royals is so good. I hope you love the series as much as I do.

Thank you for the advice. I’m loving reading other blogs.

  3. Congrats on your first full month of blogging! It looks like you read some super awesome books, and I’m glad you’re starting off on a good reading foot! My best advice as someone who started almost the same time you did last year is get into Blogtober, it’s a really fun way to get good writing habits started and a lot of bloggers are super supportive during this month so you’ll meet some new friends and find some interesting posts!

    1. Wow 29 books, that’s incredible! And congratulations on your first full month of blogging!

I haven’t read any of the books that you read in September but a few of them (One by One and Strangers) are on my TBR. I’m also really looking forward to reading Punching the Air but probably will put it off until 2021 as I’m desperately trying to catch up on my backlist haha. Hope you have a great October!
