Book Review

In a Holidaze by Christina Lauren is the perfect holiday romance.

Mae spends the holidays at a cabin with all her favorite people. She finds out her last day that the cabin is for sale, so this will be their last holiday there and possibly all together. Mae asks the universe to show her what will make her happy. Next thing she knows she is waking up on the plane on their way to Utah. She is the only one with memories of the visit. Everything is happening exactly the same way as the first time. Mae starts to change things and every time she makes the wrong choice she ends up going back in time.

How will Mae end this cycle? Will she figure out what makes her happy? Will this allow Mae to follow her heart and follow her dreams?

In a Holidaze is a typical Christina Lauren with a cute romance, steamy scenes, and laughs. I really enjoyed this story. It was so cute and interesting Mae reliving the same days over and over again. Mae loves the holidays at the cabin so much. She is always looking out for everyone else and making sure they are having a good time. Now Mae’s focus is looking out for herself and making sure she does what makes her happy.

Mae has always had a crush on Andrew, but everyone thinks Theo likes her. Who will she choose and will it be the right choice?

I listened to the audiobook narrated by Patti Murin. Patti Murin is one of my favorite narrators and did a great job like always. Her narration added to a great book.

The story takes place around Christmas, but In a Holidaze is a great book to read any time of year.

I recommend In a Holidaze to fans of Christina Lauren, holiday romances, or romantic comedies.

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you can find her at her desk, writing or watching BTS videos. She lives in Utah with her husband and daughter, thinks she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter.
