I spent most of my week watching the Impeachment trial not reading. What a travesty. My Sunday Salon Post

I loved You’ll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey by Amber Ruffin (a talented comedy writer/performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers) with her sister Lacey Lamar. They present a very serious subject using the power of laughter to get the message across. Hilarious and infuriating at the same time. Here’s my review:

I agree completely! I didn’t actually know who either of them were until I looked them up after I got the book.

And interestingly, I have tried to get discussions going about this book with avid readers and people seem to be afraid to comment and engage. Racism is real and it should be discussed. People who are not Black and read this book may feel bad or ashamed but we should see life through the lens of others so we can all do better. We can only strive to be more aware and more forward. I was so glad you reviewed it too!!

The Book of Moods looks like a book I might like to read. I will look for it.
There is quite a bit of buzz about The Prophets. I’m not sure I know much about the plot, though. I’ll take a look at your review.
Have a good week.
